The team from Pew Research has contributed to the conversations held about the issue of misinformation on the platforms like Facebook or Twitter. They released a study showing that 74% of Americans do not believe that tech giants like Facebook and Google can possibly stop misinformation and disinformation on their platforms that will impact the future election. The survey was commissioned in January of 2020 and included more than 12 thousand respondents.
According to the survey, Republicans and Democrats both have shown relatively low confidence in the ability of technology platforms to prevent the misuse of those platforms.
