WhatsApp is working on a new feature for Android called ‘Delete Messages’ or ‘Disappearing Messages’. Basically, it means that the messages sent within private chats can remove themselves after a chosen period of time.
While sending a message, a user is able to set a particular time limit for the message to ‘self-destruct’. A similar feature is available for Facebook’s Messenger users.
‘Delete Messages’ are still under development, and we can’t be 100% sure that the world will see the feature in the end. But if it will become available to the broader audience, who knows whether it will be used for good or for misinforming population which is an especially hot topic during the coronavirus outbreak.
